Length of Treatment

The amount of treatments needed to remove a tattoo varies depending on its size, colour and placement on the body, as well as the general age and quality of the tattoo. While some tattoos can be removed in as little as two to four sessions, some can take as many as ten sessions to remove, spaced approximately 6-8 weeks apart.

During Treatment

During treatment, you will be provided with some protective eyewear and the laser will be tested on your skin before the treatment begins. The length of each session will depend on the size and complexity of the tattoo, and will be discussed with you beforehand. After the treatment, the area will be soothed in order to relieve pain and prevent infection. Your clinician will advise you on any other measures you need to take.

How Much Does It Hurt?

If you’ve had a tattoo, you’ll be used to handling some pain. Past laser tattoo removal patients have described the pulses of the lasers as feeling similar to a grease spatter or a rubber band being flicked onto the skin. Anaesthetic is not usually needed for laser tattoo removal treatments.
