Stars come in many forms, from the old school nautical style, to the dainty little ones dusted across a neck or back. Meanings of the star tattoo are varied and can refer to religion and the relationship between God and man when in the form of a six pointed star or the Star of David. Add a few more points to that star to make give it nine, and it can become a symbol of achievement and stability.

Anchor

The popular anchor design is traditionally reserved for sailors and seamen, but its popularity has reached far beyond that. This was a way of having a symbol of faith without it being blatantly obvious. There are many designs that incorporate the two together, representing strength in faith.

Crucifix

A traditionally religious tattoo, this design, in some form or another, manages to appear on many more people than just your average church goer. Cross designs seem to often be a ‘go-to’ tattoo for first timers wanting to lose their ink virginity.
