#1 – Skipping Breakfast

Sure, you’ve heard it hundreds of times before – breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But when you’re in a rush, it’s usually the last thing you’re thinking about in the morning.

The Health Effects: When you skip breakfast, your body will slow down in order to conserve calories and energy. This will make you feel sluggish and make it difficult for you to concentrate.

#2 – Ditching the Floss

Tooth floss just seems to be an annoyance for many people who think that a toothbrush is all they need.

The Health Effects: Using tooth floss helps to remove all the little bits of plaque that your toothbrush couldn’t reach. Without floss, these hard to reach parts remain unclean which can lead to gum disease. This, in turn can lead to many other health problems including heart disease.

#3 – Missing Sleep

Sometimes it can seem like there are simply not enough hours to fit everything in and still manage to get a solid eight hours of sleep at night.

The Health Effects: Not only does sleep deprivation take its toll on your physical health, it is also detrimental to your mental health. People who don’t get enough sleep are likely to be anxious, and they run the higher risk of obesity, stroke and type 2 diabetes.

#4 – Avoiding the Doctor

Many people find that the doctor’s office is the last place they want to be, even when they’re ill.

The Health Effects: Ignoring health problems because you don’t want to visit your doctor can be a risky business. That cough that won’t go away or sudden changes in weight are things that you should take seriously as your body is trying to tell you something.
