Do You Think Before You Ink? The Tattoos You Really Shouldn’t Get

As a company who specialises in laser tattoo removal in Calgary, we hear a lot of reasons for why people want to get their tattoo removed. A lot of the time, our clients tell us that they actually regret ever getting the tattoo in the first place. The reason for this? They didn’t think it through thoroughly at the time.

There are a number of thoughtful and sentimental reasons for why tattoos can sometimes be a really good idea. Unfortunately there are also tattoos that are a very bad idea.

We have put together a guide of some of the tattoos that you really should think twice before getting.

The Name of Your Significant Other

It might seem like a brilliant idea at the time, but we know firsthand that getting the name of your partner tattooed on your body never ends well. Whilst they probably feel like the person you’re always going to be with, and they really might be, no one can actually predict what is going to happen in the future. What happens if you get their name on your arm, you then split up and end up falling in love with someone else? Awkward.

Foreign Symbols

Whilst your name might look snazzy in Chinese symbols, do you really know what it says? Will anyone be able to read what it says? A lot of people get writing done in foreign symbols and then realise years later that it reads as something completely different to what they thought. It’s very embarrassing and you then have to spend time getting it removed or altered.

Gang Related

For some reasons, a lot of gang members seem to think that they must get a tattoo to cement their membership or dedication. You shouldn’t do this! Apart from the fact that it doesn’t look good to anyone, it will also affect your ability to get a job in the future. No one wants to hire someone who is clearly and visually linked to a known gang.

Something You Really Love

Are you a crazy cat lady? Do you have a passion for One Direction? If so – do you really need to get a tattoo of them on your body? We don’t think so! Whilst it’s good to be a fan of something, just remember that interests change but you can’t alter that tattoo as easily as you can posters on your wall.
