Celebrities Who Seriously Need Tattoo Removal (Part Three)

Posted on : November 5, 2014  By : Wellness

Celebrities. Sometimes they do things that just leave us thinking, ‘what were they thinking?!’ Like Taylor and Burton’s many marriages – and divorces, Lady Gaga’s meat dress or punk-anarchist Johnny Rotten advertising butter on UK television. But what really makes us shake our heads and sigh are those awful tattoos some insist on getting.

In our final blog of this series, we’ll look at three of the worst celebrity tattoos we’ve ever laid our mortal eyes upon. And boy, have we ever saved the best – uh, worst – ‘til last. Let’s start with…

Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne changed the face of music forever, amirite? No, of course not. In the history books, she’ll be a footnote to a footnote on early millennial pop-punk. But that doesn’t stop her trying. Perhaps a little too hard, if her star tattoo is anything to go by. Fittingly for the pop princess, it lacks positively any creativity. The ink itself is bland and basically functions as the tattoo equivalent of a teenager tearing down all their posters and calling that ‘rebellion.’ Which is pretty conformist.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt is a stylish gent. But hey, you would be if you had that much money and all those looks. Which just makes his inking decision that much more confusing. You remember being at school, maybe a little bored or distracted, and just doodling on your arm, or a friend’s hand? Well, Pitt had his wife – some lady called Angelina Something – scribble a few lines on his back one night, forming a map of New Orleans. But where you or I then scrub it off in the shower, Pitt went ahead and had it inked over, making the doodle permanent. ‘Cause that’s how the other half roll.

Christina Ricci

Hey, we all have a favourite book or film from childhood. And sometimes the love we have for it needs to be expressed in ways other than simple words. Like through interpretative dance. Or an MGM style sing-a-long. Or a really bland doodle inked on your shoulder blade, if you’re Christina Ricci anyway. Her tattoo of Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia looks more like a combination of a ghost, a lion and a cloud. Which might’ve been a pretty cool and artistic concept if it didn’t look like it was drawn by a limbless hedgehog.

One day celebrities will learn that just getting any old tattoo doesn’t bless them with instant cool. It just makes us all cringe with embarrassment. But hey, real celebrities don’t have real job, so they don’t have to worry about whether or not some skin-ink will affect their career prospects.
