Celebrities and Their Tattoos

Tattoos – sometimes it seems that every celebrity in Tinsel Town and beyond have them inked upon their skin. The names of loved ones, mythological animals, and far-eastern scrawls daubed across their bodies and featured in the pages of celebrity gossip mags. And whilst some celebs may be able to pull off the tattooed look, some fail miserably. Thankfully though, some of these stars saw the light. So if you’re considering laser tattoo removal, you’re in good company. Here’s a few celebrities that realised their mistakes and had their ink removed.

Johnny Depp

Those who say they don’t like Johnny Depp are probably the same ones who usually follow it up with ‘I can’t understand a word he mumbles.’ But for those of us who think he may well be the coolest man on the planet – and that’s some stiff competition he’s up against – it’s nice to know that even the kick-ass star of Pirates of the Caribbean and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas makes mistakes. When Depp’s famous fling with Winona Ryder came to an end, he didn’t cry over having the words ‘Winona Forever’ tattooed on himself. He booked an appointment for laser removal, cleverly altering it to read, ‘Wino Forever.’ We’ll drink to that!

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards

It was one of those Hollyweird couplings that makes you question everything you thought you know. When professional drug addict and sometime actor Charlie Sheen got with former Bond girl Denise ‘Whatever Happened to Her?’ Richards, they celebrated their new-found love for one another by doing what all sensible people don’t do – tattooing their names on each other. Hey, it’s Hollywood, people. There hasn’t been an outbreak of sanity in that town for around a century now. But when the inevitable happened and they split, they had to cover up that ink. So Richards stuck a tattoo of a fairy over Sheen’s name, and after Sheen’s new beau asked him nicely, he had Denise’s name lasered off of his body.

Tommy Lee

If you’re of a certain age, you might remember Pamela Anderson getting hitched to a guy she made a… cheeky video with. They call him Tommy Lee, for that is his name. Rocker Lee lists several credits to his name, including drummer, founding member of metal band Motley Crue, and wife-beater. So now you know. Of all the things to tattoo on your body, a Nazi swastika is probably the last thing on the list. But that didn’t stop this genius from doing exactly that. Because that’s rock and roll, see? Causing offence! Yay! Obviously though, after that initial madness fades and all your friends – particularly Jewish friends – stop calling you, the tattoo remorse starts kicking in. So he did the sensible thing, and had the tattoo removed. It was the one and only sensible move Tommy Lee ever made. We’d like to say the story ends with, ‘And he was never heard of again,’ but that’s just wishful thinking.
