A Bit Much: The Worst Fan Tattoos (Part 1)

When we love something, it’s understandable that we want to show such love by making it a part of us forever. It’s a common occurrence amongst the population, whether it’s a TV show, or a famous quote, or even just the name of someone you love- and it will continue on wards as long as tattoos are still available.

Whatever your opinion on tattoos, there’s no doubt that some turn out really well and have obviously had a lot of thought put into them. The effect of whatever it is they love is clear to see, and the tattoo will reflect that just as well. However, we live in an ordered world, so for every good fan tattoo you see, there’s another that is just awful.

As we specialize in tattoo removal in Calgary, we’ve seen some pretty awful tattoos in our time, but the worst are always those that are intended as a loving dedication but get it horribly wrong. It is because of this specialty, that we thought we would share some of the worst fan tattoos out there today.

What Team? Wildcats!

Have you ever loved a sport so much, you wanted to get them tattooed onto yourself? Well, what if we said that you had to get more than one tattoo, including one for the face, and the team was a college league rather than a professional team? You probably wouldn’t do it, would you? Well tell that to this Kentucky Wildcats fan who got himself inked with all sorts of team memorabilia, including the name ‘Wild Cats’ on his knuckles; the name of the state all the way up his arm, and the best part, A U and a K on his forehead, to which he’ll add to if the team gets a 40-0 win streak.

Came in Like a Wrecking Ball

A bit more of a ‘bad tattoo celebrity’, Carl McCoid from Bridlington in the UK makes this list for his collection of Miley Cyrus themed tattoos. His tattoos, which range from: portraits of the singer, her song lyrics, and quotes that have been made about her, have attracted a lot of attention, and not much of it good. Miley Cyrus herself has said in interviews that the tattoos were ugly, and the American media branded McCoid a ‘stalker’ which is incredibly harsh.

One Love, Wrong Singer

This one is actually a really well done tattoo, except for one glaring error- it’s not Bob Marley. This is in fact a portrait of Jimmi Hendrix, arguably just as big an icon, which makes this tattoo an incredibly bad one.
